Twilight is the worst written piece of trash I've ever seen. I'm not even talking not liking the story line. It reads like a 13 year old's creative writing homework. I completely agree with you! I read it so I would have a legit reason to hate it.

Man, I TRIED. I decided if I was going to hate on something, I'd know what I was talking about. Besides, I've ALWAYS given every book a chance. But I couldn't make it past the first chapter. It just made me sick to my stomach.

I tried the same with Ulysses by James Joyce.
It's such pretentious, un-readable garbage that 'intellectuals' luuuurrv it. I hate Ulysses with a passion.

I never read Twilight. But since I heard every girl in my high school classes talk about it, I don't think I ever will.
You don't see people acting like them over Brave New World or A Clockwork Orange.
And soki, intellectuals is just another word for asshole.

I don't know, man. While Brave New World and A Clockwork Orange are pretty well known books. The hipsters love them.
(I like them, though)

The hipsters don't like me when I tell them that Apple isn't as good as they think it is.

A slight relapse into twilight. (Boy, I get responses to my posts, and it's about the worst books I read). First off, I read anything I've started, just to get to the end of the story. It might take a few years, depending how bad it is. I read the first novel because I was out of books to read momentarily. But yeah. Secondly, I'm not reading twilight for my cultural fulfilment, I read it because it's bad. Just like you would enjoy a bad movie for example. I read candlelight novels for exactly the same reasons. The sheer badness doesn't annoy me, it makes me giggle. It has to be pretty bad to do that though, and yeah, twilight DOES fulfil that requirement. Lastly, I would like to add, it does have a certain pull on people. Watch this and you'll know exactly how I feel: www.collegehumor.com/video:1926101

Seth, you can read books even if they make you cringe and want to vomit? I wish I had your skill for reading.

I finally finished The Tokaido Road today. I didn't realize until the author's note at the end that the whole thing is about the actual Ako Asano Affair. Which I never knew about until I read this book. I learned history today!
I don't know if I wanna trade the book now Thingy... It was so good. I'm kinda attached to it. It made me cry at the end. It was an amazing story. Maybe after I can take a day or two to read over the best parts and think about the story. Maybe then I'll be willing to part with it. It's too good a story not to share.
